Grace Nolan holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance (Honours) and a Master’s degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from the Memorial University School of Music, where she was also named a Fellow of the School of Graduate Studies.
An active performer, teacher, and adjudicator in Newfoundland and Labrador, she serves as Vice President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Registered Music Teachers’ Association and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Based in St. John’s, Grace is a private music teacher who works with young musicians in voice, piano, and music theory, encouraging students to explore the many possibilities music has to offer. Most recently, she adjudicated the NATS competition for the Canadian Atlantic Provinces Division in February 2026.
Grace is the winner of the Newfoundland Provincial Music Festival (2021, 2022, 2023) and is one of the youngest singers to be a two-time finalist at the National Music Festival (2021 and 2022) with the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals. Her awards also include first place in the NATS competition, the N. C. Hutton Junior Vocal Rose Bowl (2019), and three consecutive wins of the M. L. Herder Senior Vocal Rose Bowl Competition (2022, 2023, and 2024). Her operatic roles include Serpina in La serva padrona (Pergolesi), Geraldine in A Hand of Bridge (Barber), Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte (Mozart), and Cinderella in Cinderella with Memorial University’s Opera Workshop. She has also performed several roles in the principal cast of Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges with orchestra. In addition, she performed across Newfoundland and Labrador as part of Memorial University’s Opera Road Show in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Grace is delighted to adjudicate for the Stephenville Rotary Music Festival and looks forward to hearing the wonderful performers this year.
